The Heart & Soul Drama Club leaders are professionals who volunteer their time, talent, experience, and knowledge to bring affordable, high-quality arts education to the children of East York.

Elizabeth Welke has been an educator for nearly three decades. With training in both the performing and visual arts, she founded the Heart & Soul Drama Club because she believes in the transformative value of arts education for all children.

Jessica Riley is a professional opera singer and an educator with over twenty-five years of experience teaching voice to students of all ages. She has taught in schools, universities, choirs, and private studios, helping each student develop skill, confidence, and a deep love of music.

Julie Stanley is an educator with forty years of dance experience. Trained in ballet, jazz, tap, and various Latin street dancing styles, she enjoys helping young performers grow in confidence, narrative expression, and self-expression through dance.

Rachel Davies is an occupational therapist with a lifelong love of musical theatre performance. She has twenty years of experience working with East York children and youth, coaching sports and teaching drama, and believes in the power of teamwork and creativity to support inclusion and personal growth.

Carolyn Morrow is a lifelong musical theatre performer and teacher who has performed on stages across Canada, from Winnipeg to Montreal to Charlottetown. She has taught at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and the University of Manitoba, and loves helping young performers find their voice, build confidence, and experience the joy of being on stage.

Tim Welke is a physician in Toronto's East End. With extensive amateur musical theatre experience and a flair for epic karaoke performances, complete with costumes, Tim loves to share the joy of creative expression with the HSDC performers.

Composer and music writer Juro Kim Feliz has premiered his music across Asia, North America, and Europe. He finished composition studies at the University of the Philippines and McGill University. Awards won include the Goethe Southeast Asian Young Composer Award (2009) and a “Highly Commended” distinction at the Ars Electronica Forum Wallis 2018. His musical works are published under Babel Scores, with contemporary releases under Ablaze Records, Ravello Records, and synth-pop releases under the moniker “Grumpy Kitty Boy.” https://jurokimfeliz.com
